Guest Post Guidelines

To make it easier for third-party companies to contribute to our blog, we have structured our guest post guidelines as follows:
1. Relevant and High-Quality Content
Guest articles must align with the topics covered on iplocation.net, including IP addresses, networks, cybersecurity, privacy, web technology, internet marketing, and other technology-related subjects. Non-technical topics require prior approval before publication.
Articles must be original, informative, written in English, and useful to our audience. Content should provide educational value and avoid excessive self-promotion. Articles should be well-structured, factually accurate, and relevant to readers interested in internet, privacy, security, networking, and web-related topics.
2. Article Length
The ideal article length is between 500 and 2,000 words. However, we do not impose a strict limit as long as the content provides substantial value to our audience.
3. Original and Legal Content
All submissions must be unique, detailed, and unpublished elsewhere on the web. We do not accept articles that violate copyright laws, infringe on intellectual property rights, invade personal privacy, or harm our reputation in any way.
4. No Promotional or Location-Specific Content
We do not accept articles that primarily promote a specific brand, product, or service. Promotional language in anchor text or article content is not permitted. We also do not accept location-based anchor text or article content, including content written mainly to target a city, state, region, or country keyword.
All guest posts are subject to approval, and we reserve the right to reject, edit, or modify content to meet our editorial standards.
5. Topic Approval
We highly recommend submitting topic ideas for approval before writing your article. This helps ensure that the topic fits within our niche and does not duplicate existing content on our site.
6. External Links Policy
We allow up to two (2) do-follow outbound links per article. Links must be relevant to the content, unique, editorially appropriate, and point to distinct target URLs. All target links must point to English-language websites and should provide additional informational value to readers.
We do not allow links to spammy or low-quality websites, nor do we accept links to industries such as casinos, gambling, sports betting, CBD, payday loans, essay writing services, dating, adult content, religious content, or buying/selling social media followers.
We do not link to websites with a spam score below 50, as measured by Spam Advisor, or to sites with a domain authority (DA) lower than 20, as measured by Moz.
If UTM parameters are used in the URL, the link must be tagged as "sponsored" or "ugc".
7. Link Restrictions
We do not accept shortened URLs, naked URLs, vanity URLs, affiliate links, or links to non-English pages.
The following anchor text and link practices are not permitted:
- Money anchors such as "free," "buy," "cheap," or "hire"
- Call-to-action anchors such as "click here," "download now," "sign up," "read more," or "contact us"
- Promotional language in anchor text or article content
- Location-based anchor text or article content
- Links to product, pricing, subscription, download, or installation pages without prior approval
We do not link out to product pages where products or services are directly sold. The landing page should not be primarily transactional, should not display price tags, and should not function as a checkout, subscription, download, or installation page unless approved in advance.
8. Link Insertions in Existing Articles
Link insertions in existing articles are generally allowed, but we may disallow them if a new link competes with previously published guest links or does not align with the article’s editorial purpose. If you wish to insert a link into an existing article, please provide the target URL and anchor text, and we will let you know whether it is allowed.
9. Author Information
An author name and bio are required for listicles, comparison articles, first-person articles, review articles, and articles using “best” as anchor text.
The author bio should include a short description of the author and a valid email address. Author photos are optional.
10. Prohibited Topics
We do not accept content related to casino and gambling, CBD, payday loans, essay writing services, dating, buying or selling social media followers, adult content, or other topics that do not align with our editorial standards.
Additional topics may be rejected at our discretion if they are not appropriate for our audience or website.
11. Editorial Review
All submissions undergo editorial review prior to publication. We reserve the right to edit submissions for clarity, formatting, grammar, style, compliance, and editorial consistency.
We may also modify or remove links and anchor text, request revisions, or decline submissions that do not meet our editorial requirements.
12. Link and Article Retention Policy
Outbound links will remain indefinitely unless we determine that the link negatively impacts our search rankings, the destination page has changed, the link no longer meets our editorial standards, or there is a conflict with an affiliate program we adopt. If we remove a link, we will notify the author when appropriate.
Guest articles posted on our website remain indefinitely unless the content covers gray-niche topics such as crypto, forex, essay, or loan categories. Gray-niche content remains on our site for at least 2 years, but may be reviewed, altered, or removed at the end of that lifecycle. We may also modify or delete articles that are outdated, inaccurate, harmful, or no longer aligned with our editorial standards.
13. Content Ownership and Modifications
Once an article is published on our website, we retain ownership of the content and reserve the right to modify it as needed. Authors may link to their guest posts, but the published content remains under our editorial control.
14. Meta Tags
Please provide a suitable title and meta description along with your article. If they are not included, we will create them at our discretion.
If you have any questions about our guest post policy, please submit a Contact Us form or email us at [email protected].
Best Regards,
IP Location Team
